Political Advertising During the Super Bowl

For the first time ever, we will be watching political advertising during the Super Bowl. We all know the ticket prices for these spots, so I’m imagining that this is signaling the start of the game for the election. Big kick off, shall we say, for the political season. Oh boy, here we go.

Enter Bloomberg and Trump. Both candidates released (at least one of) their spots ahead of time. We are not sure how many or how many times they will actually air during the game.

And just in case you didn’t think that this was competitive, Bloomberg purchased all of the key search words for Trump’s spot so when someone searches to see his ad, a link for Bloomberg will pop up on top.

It’ll be fascinating to see how the crowd reacts. Typically, folks watching the game don’t want to think about politics or social issues or anything too heavy. Many think that the Super Bowl is for families and friends. But then again, it is the largest stage in the world so…
