Just Drink the Wine!

2020 has been one of those “glass half full” and then “glass half empty” kind of years. It’s flip flopped for me many times over, and it’s been difficult to be optimistic much of the time. And I am a self-admitted and sometimes criticized eternal optimist. I always go glass half full, but there were times this year when I was overwhelmingly tempted to go to the other side. But when that happened, I would take control and look at the glass my way. Half full.

So as I enter the holiday season trying to find a sense of contentment in a year with little contentment, I remind myself to remain glass half full. A little bit of time off will do this soul some good. Reflecting back on the changes I made will bring me great contentment. I will then enter 2021 completely glass half full, as I always do.

I saw a quote the other day that both made me smile and made me reflect on the choice of half full or half empty. I’m going to run with it …

“While you were arguing about the glass,

I drank the wine!”

So true. Something to remember as we progress through the holidays and into another year that we know will both try us and hopefully inspire us as well.

Just drink the wine!

Happy Holidays! What’s your experience? JIM
