2021 Quickly Brings New Logos/Identities
To say there is chaos in our world right now, particularly in the US, would be the understatement of the year, decade, century, lifetime. Wow, what a world we are in right now.
So it might seem trite to be commenting about new brand logos and identities, but truthfully marketing is my life’s work and the show must go on. So right now I’m taking a break from the rest of the world and going to talk about the marketing world.
It’s been a hot start in 2021 when it comes to brands releasing new logos and new brand identities. Always fun, and always full of commentary for sure.
First up is Burger King with its new logo and new look across all of its branding elements (see image above). I love the retro look. Literally reminds me of when I was a kid. Perhaps that’s the point. Harken back to a time that we remember as being simpler. Although honestly it wasn’t so simple back then either. Feels like it’s not trying so hard, right?
Also changing up their look is General Motors. Clean.
And another car company, Kia. Sleek.
And then pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer. Moving.
Logo changes often spark a lot of backlash, but in all of these cases I truly see great improvement. Great movement. Modernization, even if retro! Freshness. I really like what the brands did in each case and I have not heard of much negative commentary which is a good thing. Remember the drama of the GAP logo?
I don’t personally see any drama with these new entrants. Just progress. Good progress.
Well done! What’s your experience? JIM
