I find it fascinating to watch the evolution of a brand. When you watch the evolution of the Apple brand, for example, we see how it’s gone from being about innovative design with a consistent platform to thinking differently to … now … privacy. I’ve over simplified it for sure, but to my eye Apple now stands for privacy. And protecting privacy.

I’m betting this is driven by the brand paying attention, or being conscious to quote my book, about what people most care about as smart phones become a given in our society. We know about design and platforms, but now we care about privacy. Apple seems to be paying attention.
