As part of the brand’s #ThankYouHeroes initiative, Barbie just released six new figures that honor real-life heroes in the fight against COVID-19. Real women who have contributed immensely to getting the pandemic out of our lives … like Professor Gilbert from the University of Oxford who led the development of the vaccine in the U.K.

There are six honorees in total including Dr. Oriuwa who as a psychiatry resident at the University of Toronto advocated against systemic racism in healthcare, something that has worsened during the pandemic.

In collaboration with Target, $5 for each doll sold there will go to the First Responders Children’s Foundation (FRCF), for the children of first responders, which is an effort that Target has been supporting throughout the crisis.

Once again, Barbie is making the news both reflecting and inspiring pop culture …

Thank you Barbie!
