The Creator Pass at Cannes Lions
Like many of us in marketing, advertising, communications, and the full spectrum of our industry, we are in deep in preparing for this year’s Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. There are so many dimensions to the Cannes Lions that you really have to put a team together to tackle it all in the most effective way. And while many focus on the main stage at The Palais and of course the awards, there are so many stages and venues and tracks that it can get dizzying. It takes a massive Project Management effort to keep it all in motion. Not only for us as an agency but for our clients in attendance and even for those not in attendance so that they too can learn from the Festival.
This year there’s a new track that has caught our attention: The Creator Pass. It’s a special sequence of activities/events/speakers packed into one full day that is completely dedicated to and focused on the creator community … folks who create content all day long as long as the day is. Big creators and small creators, and everything in between. We recently celebrated creators at SXSW in Austin, TX with the launch of our new influencer division called Emanate. And we will be back again in Cannes, FR to celebrate them as part of our overall Cannes calendar of events. Can’t wait.
It makes sense. Marketing isn’t just about big advertising programs. It’s about the many ways to connect with your audience and engage them with your brand or organization or mission. Creators have become a big part of that, particularly and obviously on social media. So it only makes sense to give them space to share and learn and inspire each other … and also the marketers that are also in attendance.
We are working towards participating in a very meaningful way, just like with the other parts of the Cannes Festival. Very much looking forward to it.
